Clean it with bleach to see if the stain will disappear. Follow with vinegar and let it sit for at least 15 or 20 minutes before you rinse or just let it dry. Vinegar has excellent antibacterial and anti fungal properties and will kill any remaining spores in the area. It will not prevent it from happening again, but should make it a less frequent.Helpful Reply -

Mix Vinegar and water 50% each. The vinegar will kill the mildew and you'd be using a natural ingredient. Don't worry, the salad smell will go away.Helpful Reply -
