Use a cleaner with natural enzymes. Try "Urine Out". White vinegar solution will also work, but test it on an inconspicuous place first. Had older dogs who had leakage issues.

Also, club soda. Pour it straight on, takes out stains and odors. Worked for me years ago.

Pour dry baking soda and allow to absorb the smell - vacuum up - then mix dawn and white vinegar - rub on carpet to cover it completely , allowing it to sit for a few hours- I , then remove with my carpet cleaner , the second time I use fabric softener ( scented and either white or light colored not blue ), it will remove urine and smell immensely better. I , then cover with towel to prevent dirt from collecting
and it dries completely. It has worked on my carpet and removed cat urine - it most likely will be helpful for dog urine as well.

First, blot as much up as possible. Then pour club soda on it, let it soak and blot that up. Finally, after it is dry, us Carpet Fresh for Pets on the carpet--- let it sit for a few hours and vacuum.
