First try turtle wax rubbing compound - it is like a wax but has a more powerful abrasive to it. Then buff it off. Walmart sells a headlight oxidation removal cleaner also.
Try toothpaste and baking soda.

How to clean car headlights | carwow
I did my daughters car. Used a White (not gel) toothpaste and a damp cloth. A dab of toothpaste on the cloth and rub in a circular motion a small area at a time. Keep the toothpaste moist. A separate wet cloth squeezing water as you rub. Wipe as you go along to see the progress. Once done put some paste wax over the lenses. last about a year. There are kits for sanding the surface layer off but takes a little skill. They also last about a year. It's the plastic lenses that oxidize from the weather.
Hi Patty. Use toothpaste to clean your headlights. It has to be paste. Not gel. The toothpaste will not only clean your headlights, but it will also help shed water in the rain.
try tooth paste. Be sure it isn't gel. use damp cloth and rub gently. Be sure cloth stays damp and add toothpaste as needed
Mother's Polish works well - (probably at Walmart) - advertised to shine car rims but works on headlight covers too!
Toothpaste works for the top layer of grime but will yellow again in a few weeks. You need to sand with ultra fine sandpaper and use polishing compound for a really good job. Start with 450 or 600 grit and end with 1000 or more. Tape off the area of paint around the headlight with painters tape, wrap a piece of paper around a sanding block and wet it. Go to next grit until they are clean. Finish with polishing compound.
Holy cow that sounds complex!! I'll give the instructions to my husband. It's his truck headlights and I was going to surprise him and clean them, but I'd do better with toothpaste or Mother's Polish. Thanks!!
Hi Patty, most Auto Parts stores carry a polishing product or system just for acrylic headlights... Turtle Wax and most of the other major brands of car wax have one.... just follow the directions. You can also use a small dab of toothpaste (the non-gel kind) on a damp cloth and gently rub it in a circular motion.
