How do you get a white water stain up from a dark wood floor?

I had a plant on my wood floor with a tray under it. I would water the plant, but it is apparent the tray cracked and water got on my floor leaving a white water stain.

I once had the same on my dining table, I resolved it by laying a tea towel over it and ....This may sound daft but iron the stain with your steam iron on medium heat and steam. Hope it works for you it did for me and my table was restored.

Last week my friend told me that she used an iron over a cloth. Her son had damaged the dining room table & she could not adequately repair it. A friend of hers told her about ther iron method - she was very skeptical, but had nothing to lose. Voila! She was very pleased. Good luck!

During walk through on a house we purchased we discovered a 10" bleached out water stain on our medium-dark hardwood floors. I made a paste of cigarette ashes & mayonnaise. Rub this into the wood & leave for 30 minutes or so. Wipe off & see if it needs more treatments. It took four treatments for me but no one could ever tell it had been damaged.

You can also use Vaseline, spread on and left for days under plastic wrap. That has worked for me in the past.

I have used walnuts (meat, not skin) to good effect. Lot of rubbing, but worth it.

White toothpaste like Pepsodent rubbed into the spot with a soft cloth, add more as needed, keep rubbing. Lifts water mark out of wood. Actually works.
