The reason that you were advised not to wet mop, may be because the sub floor is an MDF type of material that swells when wet... and that would buckle the tile... Check in an unseen area like a closet.. and see if you can tell what the sub floor is made of... and see if you can find a manufacturers name and product number on the back of the laminate flooring.... then contact the manufacturer and ask how to care for your floor. I cannot see that the floors cannot at least be damp mopped. You might be able to use a steam floor mop... just don't let it sit in one spot for more than a few seconds...keep it moving.Helpful Reply -

You can use Bona products to clean laminate floors - you just can't get them sopping wet. I have a bunch of pets and mine get wet all the time, you just can't let it sit.Helpful Reply -

If you check around you may be able to find a cleaner for laminate. Go online and look up a company that makes laminate flooring and see what their recommendations are. I imagine if you just damp mop and clean the mop off frequently it should be ok, as you are not introducing a lot of solution to the laminate. Me, I grew up in the generation of down on your hands and knees cleaning floors, I would think about using a damp rag, a bucket of water, and some dry towels and do small sections of the floor and dry immediately. To this day, I do my floor cleaning by hand on my hands and knees when they need it. To me a rag can be rinsed and wrung out really well so as to not wet the laminate very much, but still be able to clean it and dry it easily very quickly.Helpful Reply -
