you should be able to get some help via social services... i do know of different home service companies...but I don’t know your local ones. Some will hook you up with an in home caretaker, 24/7, others for a few hours for basic homemaking tasks. You may have to get a medical evaluation in order to qualify for assistance, and an assessment of your funds. Start with social services, they can help you navigate the system.
I'm over 65 and often find myself needing to use my wheelchair. Here's what I do...
Tub - I purchased a cheap hard plastic bristled broom and shortened the handle. Then I fill the tub with an inch of water, add degreaser, and swab the tub with the broom. It does a great job and gets all around the rim too. You can even swab the walls if you're a shower person while you're taking a shower.
Toilet - If your toilet is badly stained, buy some CLR and let it sit for an hour, then flush. For daily care pour a half cup of white vinegar into the commode each night. Swish, swash in the morning.
Sink - I use a few drops of dish detergent and just sponge away ... same with the faucets.
Tips: Keep your vanity as empty as possible. If you corral the items you need to have out into any container, it'll make it a breeze to simply wipe the counter.
My biggest challenge is the floor. I sweep, sweep, sweep. Then I use a swifter with an old facecloth on it. I spray the floor with a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water and mop away. As soon as the face cloth gets dirty I rinse it out in the sink and mop again.
Doing this from a wheelchair takes a lot longer than normal, but the results are the same.
I try to make sure I do a light regular cleaning every couple of days (wipe down the sink area, give the toilet bowl a good scrubbing with the toilet brush and bleach) so that I don't need to spend a lot of energy on a big clean.
