Try using a razor blade to scrape it off
It depends on what the counters are made of. You can soak it with a cotton ball of acetone (finger nail polish remover) and then loosen it after 5 minutes of soaking, but if acetone will harm the type of counters you have, that wouldn't be a good idea.
Try something oily - baby oil, vegetable oil, etc. Just keep rubbing it on the glue. If that doesn't work, try some nail polish remover. BUT test it on a very small and hidden spot to make sure that you don't remove the color from the countertops. If all else fails, use a VERY SHARP razor blade and CAREFULLY try to scrape it off.
Razor blade to scrape off, and Goo Gone that you can buy at the Dollar general. Worked for me.
