Use a mixture of white vinegar and water equal parts and wipe the light then dry.
I found this amazing little kit for my head lights. Its a little sanding head that attaches to the end of a drill and comes with a specific solution that's made to clean up headlights. It did wonders for my Honda!
Is it car wax?! Try using WD40, Dawn dish liquid on a damp cloth. Lemon scented ammonia on a cloth.

Use white toothpaste and either scrub or get a drill attachment. Make sure you use a non scratch scrubber. I like Scrub Daddy sponges for this type job.

To remove the wax buildup around the part numbers on tail lights, try using a wet toothbrush while you are washing your car. Adding a little car wash soap to the brush will also help to lubricate the brush and reduce the chance of causing any fine scratches. they all carry it.
You could try rubbing alcohol but test it in a small spot first.

Try just a microfiber cloth. Those clothes can pick up a lot! Use cheap ones from the dollar store b/c its hard to get wax out of the clothes once they pick it up.

Baking soda and vinegar is a winning combination when it comes to cleaning anything. The same method works for cleaning car headlights as well. Mix the two ingredients and apply to the surface with a microfiber cloth. Rinse and repeat this process as needed.
