Naturally scent your home with these wax air fresheners. This is a fairly easy DIY, but you will have to melt the wax in a double boiler. You can use your favorite essential oils or fragrance oils for the scent.
These are solid air fresheners. You can poke a hole in them before they set up to make a hanging air freshener. They are perfect for small spaces or to put in a drawer or hang in a closet.
You'll need:
- 1/2 cup Soy wax
- 1/2 cup Beeswax
- 2 teaspoons Essential oils
- Dried flowers
- Heart shaped mold
- Double boiler
It's very important to never heat wax over direct heat. Always use a double boiler. Otherwise, set a canning ring inside a pan of water and place a glass measuring cup on top of it. This is how I make a double boiler.
Heat the beeswax and soy wax over medium heat until melted.
Pour the melted wax into the molds. I made 6 thin hearts. If you want them thicker, you can make fewer hearts.
When the wax starts to harden, sprinkle dried flowers on top. I used rose petals and cornflower. Make sure any flowers or herbs that you use are completely dry.
I didn't poke holes in these, so I set them in a dish on my desk at work.

These are so nice.
I must commend you on using SIMPLY EARTH essential oil.
You won’t find a better, economically priced, pure essential oil.
