Cables are taking over, any cool organization trick?

Question

I have too many cables around my desk area. Does anyone have cool organization tricks that can help me get organized? TIA!

I just wanted to add is you can also use bull dog clips. Clip them on your desk or table and thread the cord into the metal opening and it will help control all that spaghetti of cords you need to power up your electronics. Also you can use the plastic bread ties to mark your cords so you know which one is for what electronic item. Just clip it on the cord and mark on it with a permanent marker. Easy to do these tricks and you just might already have them in your desk. The plastic ties you can collect from your bread or bags of potatoes, etc. Ask family and friends to save them for you. May this help you organize that spaghetti of cords and now know which cord is for what? Also you might try the plastic ties for that spaghetti of cords behind your entertainment center so when your on the phone with a tech and they ask you to unplug a cord from the power strip you can find it fast. I corral mine by running them through an empty toilet paper roll. If you want to be fancy, cover it with contact paper.

I use the foam pipe insulation- just group cables together and slip them in. These are cheap and just cut one pc to size and they are already open (Also they come in different diameter sizes)I always make 2 labels for each cord , one above the foam pc and one at bottom identifying the wire. I find that office labels are perfect and cheap way to go. The small cords like chargers, etc I group together and use black ties to bind then I cut off excess. Seems like a lot but I've got problems with OCD especially with cords. Lol

My major mess was behind my desk (power backup, router, etc) - so I put up a curtain on an expansion rod as a cover. Just take it down when you need to work/repair something.

You could try using a plastic closet pole cover. You can cut it to the right length and slide your cords into it using the slit the length of the cover.

My husband placed the little white clips (designed to attach Christmas lights along roof edges), along our floor baseboard to pop wires in and out of, to keep the wires behind our desks and entertainment center organized. They can be attached to the back of the desk, night stands too. Instead of using bread bag tags that can slide down or fall off of a wire, we used our label maker to print labels, leaving a bit of extra tape before cutting them from the label maker. We wrap them around each wire and each side sticks to the other, keeping it secure. Even after moving, every label remained in place and it made it easy to set up the home office again. I'd be hesitant to place wires hidden behind furniture in cardboard tubes, because if one wire becomes frayed, it wouldn't be noticeable and could spark a fire. I do however, store extension cords in a drawer, using paper towel tubes for each separate cord to keep them organized and I write the length of the cord on the tube such as 3', 6', etc. I store Christmas lights the same way, to keep them from becoming tangled.
