Organizing desk slots

Question

This is a stretch but does anyone have any ideas or recommendations how I could organize the slots on my desk? I use this desk for makeup, school, and gaming so it's pretty cluttered but the slots showing all the clutter drive me crazy. I've tried containers but can't quite find one that works. Also if anyone knows what type of desk this is that would be helpful. Thanks!!

I think you need to break it into areas for each task. The items seem to be all over the place. Maybe place make up and nail polish in one drawer. School supplies in another. The pens and highlighters can go into the little drawers

This is a beautiful secretary desk. Looks like it is mahogany or maybe cherry. With a leather top. I would not be polishing my nails on this surface. I would cut a piece of colored poster board to cover the leather top, to protect from makeup spills. I would cut some pretty paper to lie the drawers as well. This is a fairly valuable piece of furniture. Please take car of it!

I have a similar desk with the dividers inside. You sound as if you are still a student. If you like this area, try to find a shelf to hang above the desk to keep other than paper work in. You could still use the desk surface but protect. That is a very nice desk. A hanging shelf like this one. You actually are pretty neat.

I label everything and use cereal boxes cut up for organization tissue boxes work also.

Empty everything out and sort everything into separate bins first. Then go through each bin and discard anything that is old or outdated or something you haven't used in a year or don't expect to use. Then use the largest section for the bin with the most stuff and continue on this way until the smallest desk section is the one for the smallest amount of stuff.

After all of the big sorting is done, go through each desk bin and organize those. Breaking this chore into manageable pieces will be the best way to proceed!

Food boxes are great ways to make bins cover with contact paper or paint.

Great antique piece of furniture! I agree protect that leather top! Once they are damaged they are almost impossible to repair.

Can't see underneath, but could maybe add a couple of mini stacking cubes underneath then pull out when needed.
