Yes, that's the easiest to do. Here's a link I like on covering a plastic-lined shade: http://www.addicted2decorating.com/d-i-y-project-how-to-cover-a-lampshade.html She uses peel and stick Fabric Fuze, which made a lovely, professional-looking lampshade.Helpful Reply -

Purchase $1.00 scarves at your local 99cent store. Enough to wrap the shades You can use two three colors that fit your decor. Safety pin at beginning and end shir to create pleated look. The look will be great and the light from the lamp something different.Helpful Reply -
