Ice Candles - Easy DIY Candles That Look Like Swiss Cheese
These candles are often referred to as ice candles because you use ice to make them. But I also like to call them swiss cheese candles since the pattern the ice creates makes them look like swiss cheese!
These are actually the first candles I ever learned how to make when I was around 8 years old. So I can confirm they're super easy and fun to make!
Fill the paper cup with the wax and microwave it on 10 second increments until melted. Stir it in between with a popsicle stick.
Once melted, add a couple drops of candle scents or essential oils.
If you want your candle to be colored, add a few drops of candle dye.
If you want to add glitter, now would also be the time to add it.
Dip the bottom of the wick into the wax and then place it on the bottom of the other cup. Hold it in place until the wax hardens.
Fill the cup with ice. Make sure to put the ice all around the wick so that the wick stays in the middle.
Pour the melted wax over the ice. If you want to add glitter on top, you can sprinkle some on top of the wax after you finish pouring it.
Let the wax cool and set.
Once the ice is all melted, pour out the water and peel off the cup.
Now your ice candle (or swiss cheese candle!) is ready to use!

No question..but to dress up the candle melt some wax & use your beater to whip the wax & then stick it on the candle or dip the candle holding it by the wick to dip it in the warm wax.if need be warm the beaten wax a bit in the microwave.

I always admire all the creativity in the DIY page, but never comment. However, I do want to caution you that melting wax in a microwave can damage the microwave, possibly causing it to catch fire.

I have been doing this for years with my children and grand children. I can't wait to start doing it with my great grandchildren this year. I use multiple colors of wax. Let the kids choose the colors and either pour one color at a time, or pour two colors at the same time on different sides.
