Leather Napkin Rings

The fall season inspires me to bring leather into my designs, such as these simple leather napkin rings. They take minutes to make and would be the perfect accompaniment to a harvest table.
- 1 yard of Leather strip (I used Realeather 1/2″ wide strip in the color Brown.).
- 2 yards of Deerskin lace 1/8″ wide in the color Saddle Tan
- scissors, measuring tape
- Yarn needle (upholstery needle) with a large eye
- leather hole punch.
To make a set of 6 leather napkin rings, start by cutting your yard of leather strip into 6 pieces, 6″ long each.
You will also need to cut the Deerskin lace into 6 pieces that are 12″ long each.
Next, make 2 side-by-side holes on each end of the leather strip using the Leather Hole Punch. I used the 2.5 mm setting to make the small holes.
Thread one piece of the deerskin lace through the large eye of the yarn needle. Thread this lace through the holes in one end of the leather strip as follows (from front to back and then back to front).
In a similar way, thread the needle through the other end of the leather strip (front to back, then back to front).
Pull taut and center the deerskin lace.
At this point you can slide the napkin ring over your napkin and adjust the circumference for your ideal fit. Lastly, tie two knots with the deerskin lace to secure.
Now you’re ready to entertain with these autumnal napkin rings!

Carry the look into candle wraps as well. Perhaps accent with leaf or berry pics.

When I saw these napkin rings, my mind went directly to "pony tail holder"! I'm gonna make some for myself! Thanks for the great project, even if I'm not making napkin rings! 😉
