I've always loved those neutral doily table runners...but for Spring, I decided I wanted a mix of pretty pastel colors, like a garden of flower blossoms! Click HERE for the full tutorial...and other project ideas for your vintage doilies, as well!
The first step was raiding my stash of vintage doilies- some plain, some already colorful!
And then it was time to break out the fabric dye- in pretty Spring pastels.
After following the instructions, I ended up with some lovely, cheerful doilies- I'm so sorry I didn't iron them for the photo!!
And then, I simply laid them across my table, overlapping here and there, and using a needle and thread, adding a few stitches to keep them together!
How fun and easy is that?? It brightens up the whole room...and I can't help but smile when I see it. :)
And if you're looking for fun way to display vintage doilies, this is my most popular doily idea ever!
Enjoyed the project?
Suggested materials:
- Vintage doilies (Grandma or thrift store)

Ma'am, you dont have to be sorry for anything.
Your work is beautiful, ironed or not. And I love the table itself. It all fits

Love this. I have so many doilies from my Grandmother and Mom. Now I can display them! Thanks for the idea. Also, how can I save this to my Pintrest lists for great ideas for the home?

Just a thought. Could they be tie dyed to get the colors? Rubber band off the areas and dip them?
