DIY Witches Brooms

by Sydney @ Tastefully Frugal

When I saw the tree I used to climb as a kid dying I knew I wanted to keep part of it to save as memories. Luckily for me it was the perfect time of year to take some dead tree branches, a few weeds and a little ingenuity and make a fun and spooky decoration for our front porch. Total cost for project: FREE

Take branches from a dying tree and turn them into a spooky fun decoration!
Using a simple whip knot is the easiest way to keep straw together.
All the ghouls and boys will love these whimsical decorations.

Yes, I'll make a few brooms and decorate them. We had to cut down our dying silver maple this summer and the limbs will work really well. Thanks for the instructions.

Inspired. We have smut grass in our pasture and I do think it will work for the broom. As for the handle, loads of dead branches as well. Yeah!

Have a question about this project?
I love them and would enjoy making them but not just for Halloween. I have been looking for instructions just as these for my personal practice however I do not know what a whip knot is or how to tie one. Would you please provide instructions? Thank you
Are you planning on providing actual instructions??
