Paint a Quick and Easy Halloween Sign Today

If you love creating new decor that is cheap and easy this project is for you! Grab an old spindle and some scrap wood and you'll be able to paint up this sign in no time.
Getting ready for Halloween I wanted to paint a new sign so I took a look through my stash. I found an old spindle and some scrap wood. What more do you need?
To make this Halloween sign, I started by painting the spindle black the scrap wood orange using Milk paint.
To give the spindle even more Halloween pizzaz, when the black was dry, I used the orange to add stripes.
If you are new to painting signs, it couldn’t be easier! I wanted mine to say Pumpkin Patch so created a pattern ( get a printable copy here…) and laid it on my wood.
Next, I laid a piece of carbon paper under the pattern – dark side down! – and then traced over each letter.
The carbon paper leaves an outline that you can then use to paint the letters. How cool right?!
I finished the script by painting over the letters with the black milk paint and then painting an arrow on the smaller board.
Before attaching the wood to the spindle, I also gave the boards a coat of hemp oil for protection since the sign would be outside.
How fun is that? It was made with things I had on hand and took hardly any time to paint it up. I hope you will give it a try and make one for your garden too!
