Plastic Pumpkin Makeover

I’ve been admiring the metal jack o lanterns popping up in the fall decor this year. But if you know me I don’t like to pay a lot for decor. Therefore, I did my own faux metal jack o lantern.
First find yourself a cheap plastic pumpkin bucket.
Next I used a black matte spray as a primer.
Give it a good spray inside and put. Especially if you have an obnoxious hot pink pumpkin like mine. Lol.
I actually think he’s kinda cute black too.
This is the copper color paint I used at first.
Unfortunately, after two coats I wasn’t happy with the look.
I’ll show you in a moment what I did to make my pumpkin look more metallic. But first I used a sharp utility knife and cut out the eyes and mouth. I didn’t cut out the nose because I thought it would be too much.
Don’t mind the rocks in him. It gets windy around here. So anyway I ended up spray painting him again with some paint I forgot I had.
This covered magically.
I then put some orange lights in him and that’s it. If you have the paint on hand this project is literally $1.00.
