Hello use of metallic spray paint and—- or glitter might be recommended
Here's one I made. For sparkles, use spray glitter paint.

Here's another fun one! http://therehomesteaders.blogspot.com/2014/10/diy-sparkly-witch-broom.html
Spray what ever one you choose with adhesive in a can, and sprinkle glitter on it. Use newspaper or craft paper under.
You could paint the wood or plastic black and then spray the bristles with a glittery spray paint.
Dollar tree has some beautiful silver sparkling sprays. You could bunch those together. Another idea is use glitter spray. I've seen it in silver, gold, or multi.

buy a kid's broom and then use glue and glitter you can use a lot
Hi Terry: You can get some battery operated twinkle lights, probably from the Dollar Tree, and weave them in and out of the broom straws :) You can also use some spray on glitter, or spray on adhesive glue and sprinkle glitter on the broom.
Happy crafting
Just so you know if there is an Aldi in your area they are selling them for $3.99

They sell the brooms now at craft stores and grocery shops for cheaper than what you would need to make them. Then I would just add some fun bling to make it sparkle.
