Simple Patriotic Wreath in 15 Minutes or Less!

While I love the idea of decorating all over the house for every major holiday, there just aren’t enough hours in the day. That’s why I whipped up this DIY patriotic wreath as a quick way to show my love of the 4th of July and fireworks! With just a few supplies and 15 minutes or less, you can make one to dress up your front door.
What I love about this project is that you can choose whichever patriotic ribbon you like, and you can also adapt this same wreath-making method for other holidays – just use different colors!
Star-shaped wire garland adds sparkle!
Pin the leading edge of the ribbon onto the back of the wreath, and just wrap the ribbon around, pinning additional points to keep the ribbon secure.
Continue layering your ribbon, and pin the layers together on the back of the wreath to maintain their alignment.
Next comes the fun part! The star garland reminds me of fireworks. 🙂 Your garland will probably come looped in a circle. Hold the circle in the middle, and separate the loops. With your scissors, clip each loop in half so that you have a bunch of straight pieces of wire all the same length. Twist each wire around your finger to create little springs. To attach the garland to the wreath, take two pieces of the garland and wrap it around the wreath, then twist the pieces together in back. If the wire garland is too short, you can use floral pins, floral wire, picture wire, or even an extra piece of ribbon.

After spending 15 minutes or less on this easy DIY patriotic wreath, just hang it on your door and check “4th of July decorating” off your to-do list! Happy Independence Day!
