With my newfound hobby of soap making, I am getting a little more creative and coming up with wonderful different combinations. Today, I’m sharing this vanilla & lavender soap recipe using melt and pour soap base. Why melt and pour, you ask? Well, because it’s simple and I like simple. Most of our readers like things that are easy to make too, so it makes perfect sense to share projects that are pretty effortless!

This vanilla and lavender shea butter soap is great for moisturizing your skin and has the wonderful lavender aroma that so many enjoy, with a hint of vanilla. Just a few simple steps, and you can make this soap for yourself, or tie it with some raffia ribbon to give as a gift.

*You can get all of these soap making supplies at Michaels craft store. You can also find similar products on Amazon, which I’ve provided affiliate links to below.

Step 1. Sprinkle some lavender flowers into the molds.

Step 2. Cut soap base into cubes (this can easily be done with a butter knife), and place in measuring cup.

Step 3. Microwave for 30 seconds. Stir very well. If not completely melted, repeat for 10 second intervals until fully melted.

Step 4. Add essential oils.

Step 5. Stir lavender flowers into mixture.

Step 6. Pour mixture into the soap molds.

Step 7. Spray lightly with rubbing alcohol. This helps to prevent bubbles.

Step 8. Let set for about 30-60 minutes and remove from mold.

Hobby Lobby sells all of this stuff too with better prices. I also like to grow Luffa and put that into my soaps.
