Wooden Christmas Ornaments are easy and fun to make. You can make these as simple or as elaborate as you want.
Start out by gathering some 1/4" plywood scraps. If you don't have any, pick up a small 2' x 4' sheet at your local hardware store for just a few dollars.
Print out star and ornament shapes onto plain printer paper. These are your patterns. To make cutting the shapes easier, I sprayed on some repositionable adhesive onto the back of the patterns and then adhered the patterns to my plywood. Now cut out the shapes with a jig saw, scroll saw, or band saw.
Sand the edges smooth with a sanding sponge or sand paper. Stack the ornaments and drill a hole for hanging. You will either insert ribbon, twine, or a wire hanger through these holes.
Now paint or stain the ornaments. Now here's where you can get as creative as you'd like. I kept mine simple. This one just has the word JOY stenciled on it.
