Poinsettia Christmas Decorations Made From Egg Cartons

I love repurposing materials that I'd normally throw away, and this project is made from two recycled materials, which made me happy! Plus it's a fun craft for children and a very cute decoration for your home or for the Christmas tree!
Materials:
- cardboard egg cartons
- yellow fruit netting
- red and green poster paint
- glue
- glitter
Cut the egg carton as shown above. You need three pieces like the ones shown above by the arrows. If you have access to those larger trays for lots of eggs, just one will provide lots of these shapes.
Now trim the cardboard as shown above to form four points.
For every poinsettia, paint one piece green and two red, and sprinkle glitter over the tops when the paint is still wet.
Then cut a small piece of yellow fruit netting. (I find it around lemons, onions and potatoes.)
Glue one red piece inside the other, turning them so that the petals don't overlap. Then glue those inside the green one.
If you want to hang up these poinsettias on the Christmas tree, glue a knotted loop of cord or ribbon between the green and the red pieces.
And that's it! Now make a bunch more and hang them from the tree, or give them away. These are great gifts for children to make for family and friends!

Cute. When I was a kid many years ago I remember my Mom having us make bells out of the cartons for our tree.

Thanks, Patty! I like teaching my kids the importance of using what we have and not wasting!
