Modern Concrete Water Bowl Stand for the Dog

After a rushed and poor attempt at a wood one, it's time to upgrade life for our big boy!
Originally, a bunch of years ago, I cobbled together this wood stand for our big boy's water bowl. While it's not the most attractive, there were some good tips and one part has held up exceptionally well, well two -- him and the coating I put on the stand.
But, time and his sloppy water ways, it needed replacement.
I seem to be missing a slew of photos but here's my concrete form setup.
I used a laminate shelf then cut the right size circle out of a foam panel, hot glued that down. Next I cut the sides out of the foam panel, hot glued those down. Easy peasy, right?!
Next I caulked the daylights out of the insides, anywhere something could leak. I then cleaned up the daylights out of that caulk because when you pour concrete into a mold, it reflects every little bump and nubbin.
Lastly, I used rebar for the legs. Cutting up some scrap wood and with clamps, I suspended the rebar just so.

Spray the whole thing with mold release spray and it's concrete time!
After three attempts using three different types of concrete, the third was the charm. Here I used the countertop type mix. Mix it up generally according to the bag, pour it in, and wait for it to set.
Ok! It's set! Time to release the stand!
Carefully, I say carefully in case you need to re-pour, barely remove as little as possible of the form to release the stand.
Tada! As you can see, the center piece of foam popped out with the stand. No biggie, a few slices with a knife and the foam is out.

A little bit of sealer....(the recipe is in the blog post!)
Some Plasti Dip spray on the ends of the rebar then a grouping of leg tips despite not being the look I wanted (he's a messy messy boy) and voila! Finn has a sturdy new water bowl stand!
Did he notice all the hard work his mom put in? Nope but that's a-okay. I still love his goofy self.

By the way, paste wax over the sealer I applied, what you see sorta peeling up here, doesn't work but, no big deal.
I'm quite thrilled with it!
