you can make a pergola to make it look more unlike a kennel. Paint the chain link black to spruce it up...use colored stones in it with a new cool doghouse -

Well, I'm not a huge stone fan as they sink into the ground and you will play the devil getting them out. I'm still digging mine out after about 30 years:( If you can go to garage sales or estate sales and get some of that fake green roping/garland and weave it in and out of the fencing as high as you want it to go. That way you won't see in, and if you do it about 1/2 way or less, your dog can see out and it should look nice.
