Shiplap Dog Bed

We just got a puppy for Christmas, so we wanted to make a Shiplap dog bed. I found one my friend, Angela made and decided to make one similar.
We bought 1 piece of primed Shiplap and a primed 1x2 from Lowe’s and 1/2 inch plywood. You will need a a nail gun, miter saw, block sander, and some paint.
Since we have a small dog, it won’t get bigger than 10 pounds, I bought two pillows. One was 14x20 and one was 17x17. We cut out the plywood (the base piece) the same size as the pillow. Then we cut 18 pieces of the primed Shiplap 4.5 inches tall. We had to trim some of the corner pieces smaller. We attached Shiplap to the plywood with a nail gun. Then cut the 1x2’s at a 45 degree angle. We attached those on the top with a nail gun as well. After all the pieces were attached we used wood filler to fill in the nail holes. Once that was dry we sanded it down and then used spray paint to paint it. Turned out great.
All the Shiplap pieces were 4.5 inches tall.
Attaching all the pieces together around the plywood.
Jordan using a nail gun to attach the pieces.
Got all the Shiplap pieces attached, now we need to add the trim at the top, the primed 1x2’s.
Next we need to fill in the holes and paint.
She loves it.
update: we made a second one.

Beautiful baby! What's baby's name?
I have seven pups (they're addictive) & two inside only kitties. Plus the ferals I've all had fixed.
My crew share a bigger bed because my house is small.

How did you make the entrance? Just cut 3 pieces shorter? Ànd and how is the top trim attached?
Adorable pup, what kind is she? Oh and the project is pretty cool too!
