DIY Fall Pumpkin Wall Art Decor (Dollar Tree Picture Frames)

Fall is one of my favorite seasons! Fall is definitely in the air. I also love pumpkin theme fall decor!! I was inspired by the fall pumpkin wall art decor that I saw at Hobby Lobby and Instagram. For this fall craft project, I used 2 Dollar Tree picture frames, a pumpkin cutout from a Dollar Tree fall sign and adhesive plaid vinyl paper. This is an easy fall craft project! I hope you will make your own Fall pumpkin wall art decor. Cheers to Fall! :)
Supplies:
- 2 Picture Frames (5 x 7)
- Alphabet Stickers
- Artificial Fall Leaves
- Adhesive Plaid Vinyl Paper
- Pumpkin cutout (I used one from a Dollar Tree sign)
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks (not in picture)
- Heavy duty glue like E6000 or Gorilla Glue (not in picture)
- Pen or pencil (not in picture)
- Scissors (you can also use an x-acto knife) (not in picture)
For my pumpkin theme Fall wall art decor, I used a pumpkin cut out from this cute Dollar Tree Fall sign. You can also use a pumpkin template and trace the pumpkin shape on an orange foam sheet or orange card stock.
1). First, remove the cardboard backing, glass covers, and metal tabs from both picture frames. You are going to reserve 1 cardboard backing and 1 glass cover. Set aside the second picture frame.
2). Using the hot glue gun, glue the cardboard backing on the first picture frame. The black part of the cardboard backing will be the back.
The black part of the cardboard backing will be the back. This is how the picture frame looks from the back.
3). Get the 1 reserved glass cover and the adhesive plaid vinyl paper.
4). Roll out the adhesive plaid vinyl paper with the back part facing up. Put the glass cover on top of the adhesive plaid vinyl paper. Using a pen, trace the outline of the glass cover. Cut out the traced plaid vinyl paper with scissors or an x-acto knife.
5). To decrease the appearance of air bubbles, gradually apply the adhesive plaid vinyl paper on the glass cover. Remove the backing slowly and apply by sections on the glass cover.
6). The next step is to place hot glue on the back of the plaid print glass cover. Then place the plaid print glass cover on top of the picture frame with the cardboard backing.
7). Grab your second picture frame. You will leave this picture frame as is. A glass cover or cardboard backing will not be glued to this second picture frame.
8). On the first picture frame that has the plaid print glass cover, apply e6000 or another heavy duty glue on the borders.
9). Glue the second picture frame to the first picture frame. Place a heavy book on top of the glued picture frames. Let dry for at least 1 day.
Here is a picture that shows the side view of the glued 2 picture frames.
Gather the pumpkin cut out and Alphabet stickers.
10). Apply the Alphabet stickers to spell out a fall quote on your pumpkin cut out. I decided to spell out this fall quote, "Hi Fall!"
11). With the hot glue gun, apply glue on the back of the pumpkin, and place in the center of the plaid print glass cover.
12). This last step is optional but if you want, you can further decorate the top part of the picture frame with artificial fall leaves. I used a hot glue gun to glue 3 artificial fall leaves to the top part of the picture frame (as shown in the picture)
Your DIY Fall Pumpkin Wall Art Decor is ready to be hung or you can display it on a table or a shelf. Now all I need is a pumpkin spice latte! :) Have a great Fall season!
