Dollar Tree Garland Hack!
I was really surprised seeing these wooden pumpkins in the dollar tree. I only bought four because I really wasn’t sure what I was going to do with them.
I had already purchased hemp rope and raffia, also from the Dollar tree a couple of weeks ago, so it was perfect for what I had in mind.
Above is one bunch of raffia, which when opened was enough plus half of another to complete my diy project.
You’ll need a glue gun. You can find one at any craft store. I started by hot glueing my pumpkins to the rope. I cut the rope to about 6’ just measure and put each pumpkin equal spaces apart.
Once the pumpkins are secure, start by cutting about 10” of raffia into pieces, then start adding in between the pumpkins.
Start by looping the raffia, then pull the rest through. Pull tight, then trim.
It’s so easy to do!
Keep doing it until you are happy with the amount you want.
Above is the finished project. This is a fun prop at my boutique which is a real mantle and of course my faux fire rendering.
Once all of your raffia is attached, trim each one to have a cohesive look! I was going for a natural look, but of course you can paint your pumpkins or use colorful raffia.
That’s all there is to it! I attached cup hooks to the mantle and just tucked the ends of the rope over the hook. As always, thanks for stopping by!
