Are you as obsessed with the show Fixer Upper? The trend of this farmhouse style has me wanting to make all kinds of things. I wanted a place to display my flowers and greenery in my home, whether real or artificial. I found these great buckets at the local Dollar store and my wheels started to turn. I came up this wood and metal farmhouse style centerpiece for my dining table. To make your own you will need:
Tape Measure
Drill and Bit

wood needed
Two 1x1 24"long
One 24"x5.5"
Two  5.5"x12"

You will cut the 2 boards that are 5.5"x 12" into a tag shape. You will do this by measuring the 2" in the center of board and mark it, then get a straight edge and draw a line about 6" off the edge giving a shape like a triangle but with a flat top. Then in the center drill a hole to fit the rope your using. Mine is a 3/4" and is about one inch from top. I suggest using a smaller bit first then the large bit so the board will not split
take your 1x1" and nail it to the bottom board edge the 5.5"x24"
once you have both of your 1x1" boards on each side of your flat bottom board you will attach the 2 sides. Setting the tag like boards on top and inside the 1x1" so its flush. Use glue for the bottom edge and nail in place.  Then you will stain the whole project
I added these wasters to cover the drill hole, it also gives a more finished look on each side front and back. if you choose to do this you'll need 4 total
Now that I have it stained and let it dry I get ready for the rope. I taped the ends of the rope and stuck each end through each side. I then tied a knot on the out side of each side
add your pots
and it is ready for flowers you can use either fresh or artificial
I used artificial because I have no green thumb hehe.. I loved the way it turned out! Makes a great farmhouse centerpiece.

I love this farmhouse flower pots! Did you find the pots already stenciled, or did you do that? (Love Fixer Uppers, too). 😉 thanks!
