Use Real Leaves to Make a Beautiful Fall Candle Holder

Head out doors and grab some gorgeous Fall leaves and use them to make a magical candle holder perfect to brighten up those chilly nights.
Real leaves make gorgeous decor and your probably have an abundance of them right in your backyard! Grab a few that catch your fancy, and a thrifted glass vase, and you can make the most beautiful Fall candle holder with just a little Mod Podge.
Check out another project using real leaves here...
To prep your leaves for use, lay them in between two pieces of paper towel and iron them using high heat. This will take the moisture from the leaves and leave them crisp and dry.
Make sure to iron the entire leaf... even the stem.
To attach your leaves to the glass vase, spray the underside of each leaf with spray adhesive and stick in place. Work with one leaf at a time making sure each one has begun to dry in place before adding additional leaves.
Once your leaves are dry, brush on a layer of matte Mod Podge all over the outside of the vase. Let this layer dry before adding a second coat if needed.
Place a candle inside the vase and light or turn on.
Those beautiful leaves will look magical glowing on a chilly Autumn evening while you are curled up on the coach reading a great book!

How long have the leaves lasted with the color? Beautiful idea and east to use old candle glass for this.

Hi Jeannette, I did this project 2 years ago and the leaves are still the same colour today. The clear coat helped to seal the colours never faded ;)
