Winter Firplace Garland

Are the winter blues starting to set in? I have a solution! Let’s create a warm winter fireplace with a yarn and greenery garland.
Yarn Garland Supplies
I attached 7 small removable adhesive hooks to my mantle. My favorite brand is the 3m Command hooks.
I measured the width of the mantle and evenly spaced 5 hooks on the front, 1 on each end and 3 in the middle. I also placed 1 on each end in the back.
I then draped my yarn making small and wide loops
The next step was to make pom poms. Start by placing a short string between your fingers. Then wrap the chunky yarn around your fingers a few times and secure it with the string.
Use the string to tie the bundle off.
Next cut the tail.
Then cut the loops.
Lastly, give the little ball a hair. I cut over a trash can because it can get messy
Once I had my pom poms, I used a needle and thread to string them together making a chain. I used fishing line because I didn't have any clear thread on hand.
I made two smaller chains instead of one big one because it was easier to work with. I attached the pom pom chains to the mantle with the hooks.
I also made a chain with used faux lamb's ear and attached the greens to the mantle with wire.
The project came out even better than expected and you won't want to miss the final photos!!!!! The link is below
