Native holly takes center stage in a DIY Christmas wreath. Collect your own holly from your own yard and wooded areas to create a stunning and inexpensive wreath to adorn your front door. For a step by step tutorial and an interesting history on the holly wreath, check it out at www.birdieandevie.com
Start by collecting holly from your yard or wooded areas. Holly is native to the east coast and can be found readily.
You can either cut long tails of wire on your bundles or leave the wire attached to the paddle. Attach bundle to wire wreath form and affix with wire wrapped around the wreath form.
Affix the small bundles of holly all around the wreath form, alternating between the outside and inside wires on the form to create a full look.
Hang on your door! I opted to keep a simple look without adding a bow because I love the pretty shape of the leaves and the little pops of color from the berries.
