Quick and Easy Floral Wreath
I am always trying to reuse old items in a new way...so of course old wooden windows is my favorite!
I grabbed some supplies from Walmart while I was there last. Of course, you can get these items at any craft store as well. I picked up an assortment of metal hoops, floral wire, garland, and a small bunch of flowers. I actually had these on hand, but you can get them pretty inexpensive at the Dollar store.
I laid out the garland and cut it to size. I wanted part of the metal ring to show, so I left about a quarter of it exposed.
I'm am not a florist..so excuse me if I don't do this part correctly. I cut a small amount of wire and twisted it like I would a bread tie. Then cut off the extra. I did this every 1/2 inch, so it would stay secure.
I cut my flowers so I could use them individually. Scissors would have worked, but I had tin snips close by.
I added each stem of flowers separately, tying with floral wire as I went.
I took a step back and made sure I filled the empty looking spots.
I cleaned my old wooden window with TSP and water. (Short for Trisodium Phosphate)
*Beware of lead paint when using old windows. Do not sand indoors or around small children.
After my window dried from cleaning..I sealed with Retique It Polyacrylic. This will keep the paint from chipping off any further and give it a satin finish.
Then I grabbed some twine and attached my wreath to the window by wrapping around it. I finished by knotting the twine on the back side.
Once hung..I filled it a tiny bit more with leftover flowers.
Sometimes simple can be so pretty. I might make another one using brighter flowers for summer. The possibilities are endless for different looks.

I love the simplicity of this! I bet adding some white fairy lights would take it to another level.
