Wanted to do a project with my granddaughter, so we went for a walk and collected branches and sticks to make a festive wall hanger
Found a branch and used handsaw to trim off branches. Then sanded the ends and area where I sawed off branches.
Used hand nippers and cut approx. 6" sticks
Collected sticks and started to play with them for best way to make stars and a stick tree.
Laid out sticks before hot gluing.
Glued sticks together to make stars
Then made a tree out of the sticks
Used some jute string and tied onto branch. Hung it on wall (removed a picture and used the existing hanger) and started to tie on the stars and the stick tree (centered the stick tree first).
I used jute string and started adding ball ornaments
I added 2 snowflakes for some sparkle
Then added an off-white paper ribbon and draped on the top and sides
I finished by added a cloth flower & paper ribbon to cover the wall hanger
The finished product turned out better than I thought. It was fun and easy to do. And so inexpensive. I used materials I already had, so it cost next to nothing. I tied everything on the branch, so I can remove and replace with other holiday items. In Feb, I am going to hand hearts and such on it! Have fun!!!
