Christmas Tree Sign | Christmas Wood Sign | Wood and Vinyl Sign

In today's video, I will show you how I created this custom order wood sign for Christmas.
I used a piece of wood I had already stained. But you will need to stain the wood with actual stain or some type of antiquing wax.
Once the stain is dry apply 2 layers of white chalk paint. And let it dry for at least 24 hours.
After the paint has dried for at least 24 hours you will want to sand the wood to give it a good distressed look. Make sure to sand the sides also.
After sanding your wood will have fine particles on it. I use rubbing alcohol and a paper towel to remove.
I measured from side to side and top to bottom to find the center of my wood. I used a pencil and made a small mark so I could make sure I was applying the vinyl centered.
After finding the center I started applying the vinyl. I applied the truck first making sure I centered it on the pencil mark. I then began layering the other pieces around the truck.
Ok, so if you have been following me for a while you already know what I do with all my wood and vinyl projects. I iron them.
This helps the vinyl melt into all the creaks and crannies of the wood and gives your piece more of a hand painted look.
When I finish a project I always seal it with Mod Podge. Depending on the piece I will use matte or gloss.
Simply apply a thin layer and let it dry.
You can use picture hooks but I decided to go with nautical rope. I used hot glue and E6000 to attach the rope to the back of the sign.
I love this wood sign. I guess I'll be making another for myself!
