DIY Driftwood Christmas Tree

I’ve been wanting to make a Driftwood Christmas Tree for a while now and this was the perfect opportunity to do so. I’ve been collecting good pieces of driftwood every time I visit the beach. I pulIed them out to see what I had and was VERY happy to see that I had the perfect pieces to make the shape of a tree! Check this out….

Materials Used for this Project…

Small Ornaments (I bought mine at Dollar Tree)

Snowflakes (also from Dollar Tree)

Starfish for the top (Hobby Lobby)

Glue Gun

After I arranged all my driftwood on the floor, I starting placing the ornaments and snowflakes to see which placement I liked. The ornaments were purchased at Dollar Tree last year, or the year before and I bought the snowflakes at Dollar Tree this year. I found the starfish at Hobby Lobby.

Before I attached all the ornaments and snowflakes to my driftwood, I tied the driftwood together using my twine. To do this, I used one long piece of twine down each side, making sure they were very tight.

Next, I started tying the ornaments and snowflakes to the driftwood pieces. The snowflakes came with string. I used twine to tie the ornaments to the wood. See above.

For the Star on top, I used a starfish that I bought at Hobby Lobby. To get it to stay on the wood I glued a piece of a skewer to it.

Next, I drilled a small hole in the top of the driftwood using my Dremel Tool, then stuck the stick right in there.

Then filled it with glue from my glue gun to make sure it stayed in place.

And…..that is it. This wasn’t to hard to make, and didn’t cost a lot either! Here is the finished product. Isn’t it puuuurty? I may order some lights for it, but for now I think it looks pretty cute the way it is.
