Hi Jeanette, Over the years, I've made them many ways. You can use Christmas paper and cut a tag by folding a piece in half and cutting out a square or any shape you want as long as you leave a fold. Write on the inside, fold and tape to the package. You can also use card stock and build up a few layers with construction paper. For example, choose a larger rectangle for the outside, then use a color or two to make rectangles that are bit smaller. Then finally the last one that you will write on. Glue on a flower or sticker or other decorative item of your choice. Here's a few more ideas from fellow hometalk members.

Be creative. Make bell, ball shape, Christmas tree, stocking, large bow and buy some construction paper, red and green, and some white paper. Cut the shapes of the above, and then cut the same shapes in white paper, just a little bit smaller. Glue the white paper over the red and green shapes. Use a hole punch, put ribbon in the whole, and write your message.

Every year save your Christmas cards and cut them to make gift tags. Easy, cost savings and one-of-a-kind.

Hi Jeanette. You can cut out shapes from old Christmas cards. I traced a holly leaf and cut out tons. Then punch a hole through them and tie on with ribbon.
