What can I do with Christmas Cards?

Are you referring to the ones you received ? Please explain what you are looking for.

I cut off the fronts and use the blank side for writing notes and/or my grocery lists. I also use the front for book marks for my students.

I cut around the front of the card parts I can use and use them as gift tags.

Make Christmas ornaments from Christmas cards, too...

Cut out the pictures and if big enough make cards for next years gifts, if multiple, the same make layered pictures.

i agree with Paula, I've cut out the main part and used them as gift tags or you could use the picture, if it's one you really like and Modge Podge it onto wood or canvas, whatever's available. i hate throwing away cute greeting cards!

I print out a picture of the person that I'm gifting to. I use old Christmas cards and glue the picture to the Christmas card and attach to the gift. This way, when family and friends exchange gifts, they know who they belong to by looking at their own pics.

I turned them into Christmas cards for next year. Cut different sized circles out with a circle cutter, punches or dies. It doesn't matter if some of the picture is cut off or of it's just a glitter disc. Layer a card up using either glitter or metallic backed layer then a neutral front layer. Then add the circles at different heights and sizes. This will give you a unique card each time. You can mix up the circles, using from different cards or use from the same recycled card. Works with birthday cards too.

My aunt and I used to use pinking shears and cut out the nicest part of the card. Punch a hole in the top and tie a ribbon through it. Use on presents that tell who the present is to and from. Cheap Christmas label.

St. Jude’s Ranch for Children recycles your used greeting cards and creates new holiday and all-occasion greeting cards. Recycled cards are sold to support our programs and services for abused, neglected and homeless children, young adults and families.

The program is beneficial to everyone – customers receive fun, “green” holiday or other occasion cards they can feel good sending to their friends and loved ones, and the children at St. Jude’s Ranch receive payment for their work and learn basic job skills and the importance of recycling.

Recycled Card Program History

More than 30 years ago, wishing to show our donors appreciation for making St. Jude’s Ranch for Children possible, the idea was conceived to turn the previous year’s Christmas cards into “new” cards for the coming season. The recipients were so delighted when they received the unique “thank you,” that they requested to purchase the special cards. The program soon expanded to include all-occasion greeting cards.

How It Works

Operated by Kids’ Corp., a program designed to teach entrepreneurship skills, the children at the Ranch participate in making the new “green” cards by removing the front and attaching a new back. The result is a beautiful new card made by children and volunteers.

Cut the front of the cards off with pinking shears or ordinary scissors into circles.

Fold them in half. Glue one circle to another one.

Do this till you form a circle(bauble) of cards.

This can be used for a decoration for next year if you thread some wool string or ribbon onto it.

Works the same with birthday cards for a cheap decoration.

clear contact paper then cover again with another layer of clear contact

paper so the cards are sealed inside,can be wiped clean after using!

I taught the ladies at my church how to make Christmas Ornaments and we decorated a tree for our Festival of Trees for Hospice Care. After the trees are on display, they are delivered to nursing homes, senior centers, hosptials. I got all my instructions by surfing the internet. We had such a good time. I also helped a girl scout troop to made these ornaments. It was such fun for all!

ornaments for trees were made years ago by gluing 4 round shapes , fold each in half and glue each half to the next half ,back to back, so that you form a circle or ball , could be made diamond shape to. attach a ribbon for hanging. putting a trim on the edges would add more sparkle.

Paper chains were also made , could be done with cards to. cut strips and connect each by making a ring , then ad the next the opposite way through it..
