Crafting during the holidays is such a Joy! It’s so much fun to infuse little handmade elements into the best and busiest season of the year- this makes the decor and gifts extra special. In this post, I hope to inspire you to create something from the heart this holiday season.
Here is an inexpensive and easy step by step tutorial to create some stunning gold and glitter holiday decor by re-purposing bottles and picture frames.
Step 1: Start by applying a coat of white gesso onto a clean bottle and let dry.
Step 2: Use a sponge dabber to apply a coat of tinted metallic paint onto the surface of the bottle and let dry.
Step 3: Working in sections, apply tacky glue to bottle and sprinkle a handful of sequins over the glue. I've chosen red and gold sequins to give a Christmas theme.
Step 4: Continue this process until all desired areas of the bottle are sequined.
Allow the bottle to dry and you now have your unique hand made festive home decor.
I also re-purposed a photo frame using the same technique to pair up with the bottle.
Your handmade decor is now a majestic element anyone would love to have in their homes for the holidays.
This DIY decor would also make a nice holiday gift.
Hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
Happy Crafting!
