Winter Wonderland Porch

I have to admit I’m not one for big external decorations but this year we all need a little cheer in our lives. Our children requested we trim up the front of our property.
Determined to make as much as we can we have created a winter wonderland scene with a few bought in extras.
To make a similar scene yourself start with some pallets as a base to build from. Fill in any large gaps with planks of wood, cut to size then using an electric drill screw into place
Prune some tree branches to create tree forms. Work out your positioning then drill a hole to place the base of the branch into.
Spray the trees with white spray paint, be careful if it’s windy not to spray yourself!
Cover the base of your pallets with a white fabric, staple gun to secure - cut around the tree bases.
Wrap the tree branches with external lights, take time to wrap carefully the full form of the branches.
Next build a Christmas tree form old planks of wood - this is an update version of this previous hometalk post. We have chosen to keep the natural wood, not add words, instead wrapping the tree in lights.
Now it’s time to add any bought light decorations - we have chosen to add a couple of light up reindeer, we have used metal screw rings and cable ties to secure to the pallets.
I hope you like our semi budget friendly winter Christmas scene. Wishing you and your family all the best this Christmas time.
