DIY Teachers Gift ( WITH VIDEO)

Last week was teacher appreciation week and it got me to thinking… Teacher’s sure have a lot of patients!! I couldn’t last a day in their shoes let alone a whole year of constant teaching and disciplining. It takes a big heart to do what teachers do and to show our gratitude we decided to leave a little memorable gift behind..
We first started off by stenciling his teachers name with the white sharpie and stencil.
Then we aligned the apple printable on the wood making sure not to get to close to her name. Following that we put it on top of a sheet of metal and started nailing our nails in.
Once all the nails were in we simply pulled that paper off and started threading.
We did the red part of the apple first and followed along with the white heart in the center.. Then we did the stem and the green leaf.
He was so excited to take it to school that he woke the next morning and the first thing he did was walk up and put it in his backpack… LOL
poor little guy had to wait an extra day.. I had to explain to him that I still needed to take a few pics..
Well what do you guys think?
Don't forget to visit our blog to view the full VIDEO of this beauty in the making.. We sure had fun making it. Hope his teacher likes it.
