Using old books I picked up from goodwill and corbels from Lowe's. Turned into a quick and inexpensive DIY to add character to any area.
The corbels are from Lowe's
I used Minwax stain in Provincial to stain the corbels
Let dry
While the corbels were drying I took the covers off the books
I used white acrylic paint and painted the outside of the books
Using the same white paint I painted the corbels. It took about three coats to get the color I wanted
I used dark antiquing wax and aged the corners and edges
I added more white to the edges to lighten up the “aged”
Once the books were good and dried I tied them together with jute twine
