How to Repurpose a Broken Lamp

Outdated Mid Century Modern style lamps damaged were repurposed into stylish chunky coastal style candle holders.
The AFTER: candle holders hand painted in a soft gray blue.
The BEFORE: lamps repurposed into lovely candle holders.
The beginning process was to disassemble the lamps, clean, and sand.
The chunky part of the lamps were painted with chalk paint as well as the wooden base. They were naturally distressed as the poly was brushed over the paint giving them a verdigris effect.
The wood bases were attached to the ceramic middles with E6000 adhesive.
6" Tondo plates from Crate & Barrel were added to the top of the ceramic to hold the candle.
I love the texture of these pieces from the original design to the wood grain of the plates. They definitely have a coastal flair.
