Decoupage Bottles

I had been saving unique genie shaped bourbon bottles for a few years! I actually loved the shape and when shopping with my husband for bourbon, convinced him to buy the Willett bourbon bottle! He did like and and I saved every bottle, thinking some day I would do something with them.
I did not know what to do with the bottles so just collected them! I had small and large ones. A few months ago I started watching tutorials on decoupaging and thought I would try this! I watched several people and tutorials and finally January 2020 started my bottle project. I painted my first bottle with acrylic paint and it was not sticking very well. I finally decided to get a primer and painted 2 coats then used the acrylic. I like haw tge acrylic finish looks!
I found some beautiful peacock and floral napkins on amazon!
After cleaning the bottles and letting them dry, I started painting the bottles with a white primer 2 coats, drying thoughly between each coat. Then I painted with white acrylic paint.
I found the napkins were layers, first you need separate the layers. I tore them into pieces I wanted to use to fit tge unique shape of the bottle. I put a thin layer of decoupage then layed down the napkin and smoothed it using a piece of plastic wrap and my wet brush then applied a coat of decoupage to the applied napkin.
I then mod podged small area and started placing pieces of my napkins. I used plastic wrap to rub lightly and my brush to spread the napkin and applied more mod podge as need under and on top of the napkin! I just kept moving appling more pieces and covering areas of the bottle as I wanted. I applied the last coat Mod podge to the dried decoupaged areas..
Ivhad gotten the bling at hobby lobby in the ribbon area. I used hot glue to to apply.
Loved these bottles and have given some for gifts. Sold one and have mine on my mantel.
