DIY Dandelion Burlap Art

Need new summer decor? Find out the inspiration behind my DIY Dandelion Burlap Art & how you can create one while recycling for under $5.00!
After meeting Roger Dale for lunch yesterday I headed to Joann’s & Hobby Lobby to grab a few things, particularly for my sister-to-be’s upcoming wedding. While I was at Hobby Lobby I noticed that the gold art that I had been eyeing a few weeks back had gone on sale – 50% off! After almost picking up every single piece I had to calmly tell myself I did not have the money to buy any of them. I’m pretty sure a few passerby’s thought I was crazy as I mumbled under my breath (over & over again I might add) You do not have the money, you can not buy this. Luckily, no one called security on the crazy lady.
However, I couldn’t leave Hobby Lobby with just the one item I had come in for, so I wandered around a little bit until I found an art piece that I thought I could recreate. Of course one project wasn’t enough so I continued to wonder around until I found this little art piece.
Now of course I could have just bought the Dandelion Art for $21.99 & used my 40% off coupon, but I needed the coupon for my gold leafing (a must have for the other art project). Plus one of the billion wonderful things about Hobby Lobby is that if you fall in love with something & can’t afford it they have all of the supplies you need to make your own, for less than half the cost!
What I love about this DIY Dandelion Burlap Art is that you can create it for under $5! But to be completely honest this was a free project for me because I already had the materials I needed at home. The burlap I had bought at Christmas time from Hobby Lobby for another project (that I never got around to doing) & I got it for 40% off using their weekly coupon. Although I already had white paint at home, I did pick up some grey paint while I was there for only $0.77.

ps. This isn’t an ad for Hobby Lobby, I just LOVE Hobby Lobby!

Now as for the frame of the burlap canvas, I decided to recycle/upcycle an old shipping box. Simple & free!

I love it, love the simplicity, and love that it brings back memories of dandelion bouquets my girls always picked for me when they were little! Thx for sharing.
