DIY Faux Cowhide Lampshade
Adding a faux painted cowhide technique to this lampshade was an improvement considering the lampshade probably should have been tossed, what with the unsightly water stains it accumulated in our very scary basement. But I'm glad I took a chance at it because now it's worth keeping.
Faux cowhide paint technique
Trying to get this look with paint takes a little skill but it's doable
The lampshade had water stains in a bad way and was ready for the dumpster
I gave it a tissue paper and decoupage base.
Painted it translucent white and then hand drew some cow spots.
Used a small brush to imitate fur edging on the spots
Kept painting spots until it looked as close to cowhide as possible
