Miniature Dollhouse Flowers

I’m in the process of building a dollhouse (you can check out the progress on my Instagram page @_prettyliving).
As I want this dollhouse to be really special for my kids and hopefully one day their kids, I’ve been building it from scratch and adding lots personal detail.
One little detail I wanted to add was some little flowers to go in a miniature vase I picked up from marketplace.
I had a dried arrangement in my own kitchen that had some tiny little yellow buds (sorry I’m not sure what the flower is called) that were the perfect size for the dollhouse.
So I started by cutting the stems short enough to fit nicely in the miniature vase I had.
I then carefully pushed the little stems into a sponge so that they would stand up straight, ready to be sealed.
I then sprayed them with some clear varnish I had in the garage. I did 3 coats of varnish, leaving a few hours between coats.
I made sure that they were well coated to prevent the tiny little petals from coming loose and falling out.
Once the varnish had completely dried I ran my fingers over the tops to see if anything would come loose. They were rock solid and well coated, nothing was coming loose. 👌🏻
I then put some glue into the bottom of vase. I used liquid nails as that’s all I had at home already and I’ve always been happy with the strength of it.
Lastly, I put the flowers into the vase and arranged them nicely before the glue set.
Now it was ready to go in the dollhouse. I’m really happy with how it turned out, and hopefully will last a long time. ☺️
