Easy Vintage Cutting Board Decor

25 Minutes

Do you love decorating with vintage items? I know I do! I use them every chance I get. Do you have some vintage cutting boards and not sure how to decorate with them? Well, you are in the right place! I am here to help. There is always the obvious stacking and layering with cutting boards, which is great and super cute. But this easy diy will give you another great option in your home decor.

Supplies needed

  • cutting board
  • vintage biscuit cutter
  • paint- I used Wise Owl Chalk Synthesis, click here
  • paint brush
  • sandpaper
  • e600
  • hot glue
  • small floral arrangement (diameter of the base needs to be smaller than the biscuit cutter)
  • (after completion of project I realized I needed a brad nail and hammer)

DIY steps

  1. Paint your cutting board. I only painted one side, but it is up to you if you’d like to paint both
  • Next, I sanded the edges
  • Here is where things got a little tricky. As with life, crafts sometimes doesn’t go as planned. I had planned on hot glue and e6000 to attach the biscuit cutter to the cutting board, but it did not want to adhere. So, here is where the unplanned hammer and nail came in to play. I attached the biscuit cutter at the lower quarter of the cutting board with the handle of the cutting board facing up and the handle of the biscuit cutter facing down.
  • Finally, I placed my small floral arrangement inside of the cutter.
  • OPTIONAL-you can easily add a bow for extra decoration.
