Fun & Frugal Clothespin Wreath

I was "needing" a wreath for my back door and wanted a little different wreath. Something fun!
I have this wreath on my laundry closet door and so I thought I would do a little different spin on it and make one for my door.
There are so many variations of this wreath.
Gather your supplies. You need your paint color of choice, paint brush, 9" cake board or cardboard, clothespins, glue gun and glue sticks.
These are the colors I used for my wreath. The glitter paint was just to add a bit more fun to the wreath.
Fold the cake board in half and cut out the center leaving a ring thin enough to be covered by the clothespins.
I covered my ring with tape to prevent the cardboard from getting soggy outside. I have a very small overhang over the back door but not enough to protect it from the elements.
I didn't realize I had two different size of clothespins, but it ended up being a happy problem as I really like the arrangement it made!
I alternated purple,
Green...
And finally orange.
Before painting, I had figured out the pattern on the back of the clothespins.
I added the glitter paint to the purple pins only. It goes on milky, but dries clear and leaves only glitter behind. :)
I wrapped the uncovered portion of the wreath with the ribbon, then made a funky bow, securing it with hot glue and added a loop for hanging.
I just love the ribbon!
This was such a fun and easy project. My back door is happy and welcoming place now. :)
And the small amount of glitter is just perfect.
Enjoyed the project?
