I created this project by taking a styrofoam head and turned it into a girl's room decor item and secret hiding place for her little treasures.
First I started with a styrofoam head form from Hobby Lobby.
Then I carved out the top of the head. This is where the plant (hair) will sit. I made it extra deep so she can hide small items under the plant.
I "painted" the head with Mod Podge that had a small amount of acrylic paint added to get a flesh color. This gives the Styrofoam a nice shine and the foam wont chip away.
I added a bit more Mod Podge and more acrylic paint for her makeup. And I added false eyelashes for a bit of girly personality!
The head was covered with a bandana from the Dollar Tree. The plant came from Hobby Lobby. Under the plant is room for a small treasure or two.
I decided to add some glasses, also from the Dollar Tree for more pizzazz. She also owns a pair of sunglasses for a change of pace whenever she'd like! And that's it, finished! Give it a try yourself!
Enjoyed the project?
